Almost every person has had a headache at one time or another. Many are caused by simple tension that disappear as soon as the tension is relieved. Others may result from more serious causes. People
with chronic and severe headaches need to address the causes to obtain relief. Migraines can be some of the most painful and debilitating forms of headaches.
Illness, poor nutrition, toxins in the body and musculoskeletal misalignment may cause headaches. They may also be caused by any combination of these factors.
Food is the fuel that keeps the body and the brain running. A lack of food or food that lacks nutrients causes stress on the body as it tries to operate without the fuel it needs. This may cause the head
to feel pain as the body strains to keep operating.
The world has become a toxic place. The body is assaulted with toxins from the air, earth and water. Man has created many chemicals that do not belong in the body but which are used on our food crops to
kill pests, or sprayed in our kitchens to kill germs, or used on our clothes to color or clean them. Our body absorbs these chemicals, and to be healthy must release them again. However, sometimes they
become stuck in our body causing many symptoms including headaches. Besides eating organically and limiting our exposure to toxins, massage and myofasical work can help the body to eliminate the toxins that have become stuck.
The head rests on top of the spine and tensions or misalignment of the bones or soft tissue below the head may be a major contributory factor to headaches. The head must adapt its position in space relative to
the position of the pelvis and spine. If they are unbalanced, muscle contractions and joint restrictions occur in an attempt to keep the body balanced and functioning. The stress on those muscles,
joints, tissues, and organs can result in headaches.
Windsong Therapy and Wellness works to relieve tension in the body, remove restrictions in the fascial system, and return the body to proper alignment which often relieves headaches completely or reduces the severity and frequency of headaches.
